One look, a hello
Feel my heart glow
Time moved too quick, breathe with every tick
Poking fun, light jokes, smirk at your wit
Just met, don’t know much, but I feel excitement
.
Stay out, late nights
Laughing at midnight
The stars reflect, feel a change in my chest
You told me, “Hey look there”
And brushed back my hair
Just one touch, under stars, but we felt it in the air
.
Your heart’s the only thing I can hear, out here
My glow’s the only thing you can see, it’s crazy
Present in the moment, you can show it
Meet me with the lights out
Another night out
.
Monday, at our place
Relax, how was your day?
Gave me your jacket, snuggled all night with it
Just for once, feel fearless
Get lost in stillness
A small step, for what it was, let go of the past
.
Talk on sidewalks
Get through the pain, ignore clocks
Then once, we laugh
Smiling through photographs
You look, and say, “I love you, friend”
I knew I could trust, it felt so honest
.
We drove for hours, all around that town
Smile at your picture on my desk as I write this down
