Thankful

Thought I had a good plan

But it just didn’t happen

So much has changed in a year

So much I never imagined

I don’t know what’s next

But at least I can say this

I’m thankful for all that I’ve been through

I’m thankful for all of my friends

I’ve learned so much

And I came out stronger

I pushed through the pain

Learned how much I deserve

It was hard, I lost a lot

But just look at what I’ve gained

I’m so much wiser now

And for that, I’m thankful

I’ve got so many people that care

That have so much love for me

They introduced me to myself

Helped me through the distortion

I’ve got so much love to give

But I’ll keep some of it in

Cause I need it to

To feel that love from within

.

They gave me so much care

They were so kind and patient

They always stood by me

Through every frustration

I lost myself

But now I’ve gained the world

The future can overwhelm

But I’m still here

And for that, I’m thankful

.

One day I’ll know where I’m going

I’ll say I finally made it

I’ll love where I am

Find my happy spirit

I’ll find so much love and bliss

I won’t remember this year

Only from happiness

Will I cry any tears

And for that, I’m thankful
